How the workshop works
- Design: Everyone decides on the shape of their ring.
- Carving: The ring blank is shaped from special jewelry wax with files, carving tools and heat.
- Casting: After the workshop the wax models are professionally cast in 925 sterling silver, gold-plated or made in solid gold on request.
- Ready: After about 4 to 6 weeks the rings are ready for collection or are sent by post.
The wax model becomes a ring through lost-wax casting: the model is embedded in a mould, the wax is melted out and the cavity is filled with liquid silver. This way the ring takes on every detail created in the workshop.

MOLOKAI is a jewelry brand from Zurich. Since 2016, designer Tamara Aharon has been creating minimalist, timeless jewelry that is produced in small quantities. The MOLOKAI Shop at Grüngasse 7 in District 4, open since June 2020, is also where the wax carving workshop takes place.
